About CE Inventory Solutions

CE Inventory Solutions has been created to provide smaller business owners / managers / advisors like you with Cost Effective Inventory / Stock Control Assistance and support.

Our simple, practical and effective information, products and services are designed to suit businesses from Sole Operators to about 20 employees, to keep within your budget, and in ways that empower you!
Our aim is to enable businesses in different industries and with different types of inventory to achieve greater levels of understanding, control, efficienties, results and profits.

How do Small Businesses learn about Inventory?
Unfortunately, many are at the mercy of their Accounting Software (costly, complicated and often not used correctly), High-Priced Consultants or education, or worse… learning by expensive Trial and Error!
There are many Risks, Impacts and Trade-Offs to consider when it comes to inventory, but often it is only minimally “managed”, usually through ignorance or what we call the “Buy, Hold and Sell” Mentality.

I have worked in an inventory related capacity for all but 3 years of my working life.
My first part time job (at 14) was in a chemist shop, where in between customer deliveries I used my initiative to un-clutter and reorganise their storeroom. No more tripping over things to find the right stock! From there, most of my employement positions involved inventory, even when I did not apply for that role.

I have since invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into my training. I have almost 15 years of practical, hands-on experience across various industries, through various positions, company sizes and inventory types.

To me, Inventory is a concept, and is about having a Systematic FLOW.
I have always continually looked for ways to refine or improve work processes, to achieve better results with less effort. I have since found out this is a fundamental core of inventory management, called Kaizen.
Because I question the status quo, I view inventory differently to other people, including some of my educators.

A few years ago I became disillusioned at saving my larger employers significant amounts of money through my improvements and assistance. I had no extra incentive (except my salary and some bonuses), no fulfilment, no satisfaction, and no sense of personal purpose. To continue on this corporate ladder no longer interested me. I realised that I was not helping people, and I was not happy. It was time for a change.

Of all the positions I have been employed with, I most enjoyed working with a small family owned and operated business. Here, a simple change in inventory practices easily multiplied the efficiencies, customer service and profit levels, many times over! I also realised that SME’s are at a significant disadvantage to their larger competitors, and I saw education providers targeting larger businesses only, with expensive programs that cost thousands of dollars! Who would champion the SME owner / manager?

So in 2006, with my wife Jane (also learning about Inventory whether she wanted to or not), we decided to create something that provides more than just Inventory knowledge. CE Inventory Solutions was born!
